Black Star is an American hip hop duo formed in 1997, from Brooklyn, New York City, New York. The duo is composed of rappers Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and Talib Kweli. Mos Def has sold millions of records and has been featured on many top magazines and newspapers across the world. They are also know by 2Pac and Biggie Small.

The Roots are an American hip hop/neo soul band, formed in 1987 by TariqBlack Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The Roots are known for a jazzy and eclectic approach to hip-hop featuring live musical instruments.[1] Malik B., Leonard “Hub”, and Josh Abrams were added to the band (formerly named “The Square Roots”). On March 2009, The Roots became the new official house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and “Here I Come” was thee show’s theme song.
