Throwback Male Artist of The Day: Dr. Dre feat. Eminem – Forgot About Dre
Andre Romelle Young better known as Dr. Dre is an American rapper, producer, owner and an entrepreneur. Dr. Dre was born on February 18, 1965 in Comppton, California. He begin his career with the rap group World Class Wreckin’ Cru then late when to N.W.A.. The group member of N.W.A. includes, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, MC Ren, and DJ Yella back in the late 1080’s. Dre went solo back in 1992 with the debut of the hit album The Chronic. With the release of The Chronic, he sold millions of record and also won a grammy with the hit single “Let Me Ride”.
Dre is the founder and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and were part owner of Beats Elecrtronic which was later sold to Apple for over two billion dollars. Dr. Dre is first Hip Hop billionaire. Dre. Dre help many artists out his career such as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Xzibit, 50 Cent, The Game, and Kendrick Lamar. He one of the best artist producer ever to live. He produce Snoop Dogg’s first album which went quadruple platinum debut Doggystyle.
Dre was part of the hit label Death Row Records which has 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and other top rappers in the 90’s. He left the label and started his own label call Aftermath Entertainment. He next started to work on his solo albums entitled, Dr. Dre, Presents the Aftermath, and 2001.
Dr. Dre signed Eminem and 50 Cent to his record label in 1998 and 2003 respectively, while contributing production on their albums. He has won six Grammy Awards, including Producer of the Year. Dr. Dre has also had acting roles in movies such as Set It Off, The Wash and Training Day. Rolling Stone ranked Dre at 56 on their list of “100 Greatest Artists of All-Time”.
