Jennifer Hudson may testify in murder trial
Jennifer Hudson has been added to the witness list in the trial of the man accused of slaying three of her family members.
The Oscar winner’s mother Darnell Donerson, 57, and brother Jason Hudson, 29, were killed in the family home with nephew Julian King, seven, found murdered in a car three days later back in October 2008.
William Balfour, who was the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister Julia, is accused of the triple homicide.
The trial is set to begin on April 9 and The Chicago Tribune reports that Jennifer may be called to the stand to testify.
Prosecutors filed papers in court last week which contained interviews detectives carried out with the Dreamgirls star after the tragedy.
The paperwork states that Jennifer knew Balfour from when she was a child but advised her sister not to marry him.
Balfour is charged with first degree murder and prosecutors allege that he carried out the heinous crimes because he was jealous Julia was dating someone else.
Prosecutors have apparently not yet disclosed whether Jennifer will actually take the stand or not.
