Taylor Swift: Remember your past

Taylor Swift thinks people need to make their past as much of a ‘priority’ as the present day.

The country musician has branched out into movies, voicing the character of Audrey in the new children’s movie Dr. Seuss” The Lorax.

Taylor loved working on the project because she felt a great affinity with Audrey.

‘She”s heavenly. She”s such a day dreamer, and she cares so much about the past,” she explained. “To some degree, you have to have a priority based on the past and the future as well as the present.’

The movie follows a young boy as he tries to find a way to win over a girl’s heart. It is an environmental tale too and encourages people to care for the planet. That is another aspect of the picture which appeared to Taylor.

‘I grew up on a Christmas tree farm, and [Audrey”s] obsessed with trees,’ she laughed to MTV News.

There were some bits of the project which Taylor found difficult though.

As the movie is animated she didn’t act in the studio with her co-stars, such as Zac Efron. Instead she laid down her vocals in a booth, which was hard to get used to.

‘It”s a completely different space that you go to in your head,’ Taylor said, when asked how the process compares to recording music. ‘It”s very different from when you”re singing songs that you wrote… with this, you”re sitting there in a booth by yourself having conversations with no one.’
