Andre R. Young AKA Dr. Dre began his career in the mid 1980’s with the under independent record labor Kru-Cut Record. Dr. Dre started out a young DJ in Compton, California. He later joined the group World Class Wreckin’ Cru under that same record label. His first album “Surgery” with the group sold over 50,000 copies throughout the Compton metro area.
In 2001, Dr. Dre release his second solo album entitled, 2001. The entire album was a hit. This album was nominated for Best Rap Album in 2001. He also won a Gammy Award for producer of the year, Non-Classical. 2001 alone featured artist such as: Devin the Dude, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Xzibit, Nate Dog, Eminem, Knoc-turn’al, Mary J. Blige, and other top Hip Hop and R&B artists.
Dre is known for his hard work and was nominated for Hustler of the year in 2014 and 2015 and won the award at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Since then, Dr. Dre own his own record label, part owner of Beat, which he sold to Apple. He sold millions of records and produced numerous Top hit around the globe.
