Legendary John Legend signs with UTA
United Talent Agency (UTA) has officially signed John Legend and his production company, Get Lifted, for full global representation across music, film, television, publishing, branding, and live touring. The announcement, made on August 21, 2025, comes at a milestone moment in Legend’s career as he launches the North American leg of his Get Lifted 20th Anniversary Tour, celebrating his groundbreaking debut album.
UTA executives emphasized the significance of the deal, calling Legend a “global musical icon” whose cultural impact extends well beyond the stage. Jay Gassner, UTA Partner and Co-Head of Talent, praised Legend’s unmatched influence, while UTA Global Music leaders David Zedeck and Sam Kirby Yoh highlighted the worldwide reach of his artistry and entrepreneurial vision.
Legend’s résumé underscores why this partnership is so high-profile. He is one of only nineteen EGOT winners, with 13 Grammy Awards, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Tony, and multiple Emmys to his name. Beyond his achievements as a performer, his Get Lifted Film Co. has produced acclaimed projects such as HBO’s 1000% Me: Growing Up Mixed, Netflix’s Rhythm & Flow, and the Paramount+ documentary Loudmouth. Future productions include NBC/Peacock’s Before I Let Go, film adaptations of Blacktop Wasteland and B-Sides, and a modernized version of The Phantom of the Opera.
Legend’s creative reach also extends into publishing through Get Lifted Books, and into entrepreneurship with ventures like Loved01, his skincare line launched in 2023, and Kismet, a dog lifestyle brand he co-founded with Chrissy Teigen in 2024. He remains deeply active in advocacy, most notably through FREEAMERICA, a campaign focused on criminal justice reform, and his leadership roles in educational and community organizations.
This UTA signing signals not only a new chapter in Legend’s career but also an expansion of his global brand, ensuring that his multifaceted artistic, business, and philanthropic work continues to thrive across industries.
